Melbourne rockers One More Weekend just dropped their exhilarating new single ‘Raindrops’. Wild, electric and free-spirited, ‘Raindrops’ is sure to be a staple for all party playlists.

Featuring face-melting guitar licks and punchy bass grooves, ‘Raindrops’ is an addictive eruption of modern rock with chant-along chorus’ wrapped in a powerfully dynamic package. Accompanying this electrifying track, the group also unveiled their kaleidoscopic music video treating listeners to their signature feel good energy and party antics lit with bright flashes over bursts of punchy punk rock. Oozing with attitude and vibrance, this is One More Weekend at their peak as they one up their already stellar catalogue.

Vocalist Connor Dougan on the new single: “Raindrops is all about being in a particular time, a space in which only you are present. Everything is amplified and nothing else matters. It feels wild, electric, free though weirdly contained in yourself. There’s a strange urge to share this type of bliss with the rest of the world when you feel it. So how do you a share a moment so selfish? You can’t, you just have to feel it, all by yourself.

The song was tough to produce, it’s full on the whole way through so you can imagine the physical strain if you don’t slam it out in one take. I actually redid the vocals 3 or 4 times because the first time it wasn’t nearly as powerful as expected. One of our favourite parts is the sample section just before the bridge, we actually recorded the majority of this in “The Davecave” (Jaysons step dad’s man cave). It got even better though when we took it to the Songstore and Adrian our producer started messing with it. By luck we had our videographer Haili present and she got to do more than just watch, keep your ears honed for the sneaky little “Where’s Tim” vocals. This is the first of 3 massive single releases this year. Every single one is accompanied by a stellar music video, limited merchandise and a bloody ripping show.”

One More Weekend introduced themselves by winning the Knox Australia’s Big Break Festival and subsequently dropping their debut album ‘We Used To” (2019). The group has since gone on to release singles ‘Colourful Things’ & ‘Talk’ during the height of the pandemic, both have been garnering worldwide coverage and airplay including features on Triple J, Triple M, Scenestr, Hysteria, New Noise Mag (US), Spill Mag (CA) more. With over 70,000+ streams on their Spotify Top 5, including features on Pop Punk 2021, Underground MixTape, Indie Vibes playlists amongst countless others, this release is sure to be catalytic for the band.

No strangers to the Australian music scene, the groups has been treating fans to their high impact live performances, including national tours, sold-out single launches for both ‘Colourful Things & ‘Talk’, appearance at Dweebfest Mount Gambier, and support slots for Bec Sandridge, Skies Collide and more. Now with the release of ‘Raindrops’ and a year jam-packed with more new music and shows, One More Weekend are set to reach new heights in Australia and beyond.
