Nerdy Punk by Muchlis In English

ADOPTING THE CHARACTER “NERD” IN MUCHLIS IN ENGLISH’S
EP DEBUT ENTITLED NERDY PUNK.

Muchlis In English, This Duo Punk unit which based in Bandung, Indonesia was formed at the end of 2020. Initiated by Dechan Martawidjaja (Bass) and Zaki Asshiddiq (Vocal) has released their first EP debut entitled Nerdy Punk on August 27, 2021.

In this EP debut it tells all about the daily life of Muchlis the “weird” fictional character, his work, daily routine, pets, until his love life. “We want to talk about equality where people who are considered “weird” in his neigborhood have the right to give his opinions about others.”

The idea why we took Nerdy Punk for our EP title was based on our daily routine which is quite nerd. “Indeed, therefore, we believe that by carrying out the nerd character in this EP project, hopefully it will going to be a breakthrough. At least for our own daily lives.” The material that we presented on this EP is heavily influenced by 80s Punk music.

The Nerdy Punk EP contains 6 songs; “12/100”, “That’s Why?”, “Nerdy Cat (Muchlis)”, “CeCe”, “Rela Party Demi Nasi”, and “au” as the closing song on this EP. Recorded live (Live Recording) at Bass Studio, Bandung, Indonesia. Operated by Jafar and mixed mastering by Ravli Ferial. To fill the drums, we was assisted by a local boy from Bogor, namely Daryl Gema, who is also played drums for HADD and PEEL. Meanwhile, the guitar was assisted by Dimas K. Putra from Nagasari Sludge.

By releasing this EP, Muchlis In English wants the listeners to feel free to interpret the material that we presented. This EP can be enjoyed streaming through any music platform.

Muchlis In English, this Duo Punk unit from Bandung, Indonesia was formed at the end of 2020 in a bedroom in Rancakendal. Heavily influenced by 80s punk music, Muchlis In English or abbreviated as MIE was initiated by Dechan (Bass) and Zaki (Vocal) and now Muchlis In English is officially established.

Stricken by restlesness of Zaki’s gray life, right after teaching without hesitation he immediately approached Dechan at his residence and offered an idea to make an 80’s Punk music project. Without thinking, Dechan immediately agreed and rushed to take his father’s guitar to make material after material.

The name Muchlis In English was taken from a joke at a hangout, at that time Dechan was busy talking about Muchlis who was studying in England and out of sudden Bagas said “Muchlis In English” that was where we agreed to take the name Muchlis In English as the name of this music project.
