51st AVENUE Sydney Pop-Rockers Release Emotive New Single ‘I.C.U’

Sydney pop-rockers 51st Avenue unveil their vulnerable new single ‘I.C.U’ featuring all the best ingredients of contemporary heavy rock, from its vibrant and uplifting synth samples, crashing anthemic choruses to intimate vocal work from Alynnis Zizza. The group bares it all to explore fear and uncertainty through brilliant lyricism and infectious melodies accompanying the lively instrumentation. Zizza on the release: “ICU is arguably our most personal and emotional track to date. Almost immediately after the band had created and completed the entire instrumental for this track, my husband went down a spiral of health scares which landed him in the Intensive Care Unit. When I wasn’t by his side, I couldn’t sleep so I found myself listening to the track on repeat and eventually finding ways to express my love and fear for my husband lyrically. It served as a way to channel all these really intense emotions. Writing ICU was basically my therapy.”
